Freshly Squeezed Music Ensemble: Song Form (T.J. Troy)
	This piece was composed as a simple melody over exotic chords, and has become a favorite of my chamber group, the Freshly Squeezed Music Ensemble, and our audiences. Inspired by Duke Ellington’s chordal accompaniment on John Coltrane’s rendition of In a Sentimental Mood, this tune represents a return to instrumental songwriting.

	This piece was composed as a duet for electric bass and vibraphone, but was rearranged for bass clarinet. It is a through-composed melody moving through different time signatures, exploring chromatic counterpoint and registeral variety. Featuring Jim Sullivan on bass clarinet.
